From the recording BOOMERANG SWEET
This song was written one sunny winter day, just after I had drizzled some honey on a screen to feed the wild bees, who are having a tough time in these parts. The song features Rashad Iginga on pans and Jeff Hogan on Percussion In recording this song, which was done on analogue tape in Jeff Hogan's studio in Blanco County, I encountered Mr. Martin Banks, who agreed to play some flugelorn on this track. When he began playing , a swarm of wild bees came in through the open doors of the studio and circled around Martin's head as he played. He finished his solo unperturbed, and that is what you are hearing on this track!
Boomerang Sweet copyright 1997 by Deb E. Dee Well, you can Take my jewels, You can Take my love, You can take my heart And you can Take my drug, But you can Never, never never Take anything Away from me. Yeah you can Take my garden, You can Take my flower. You can Take my life, By the minute or hour, But you can Never, never never Take anything Away from me. refrain: Come on and take my life, I give it all away. I throw it out Like a boomerang, Any old way, And all the lights I think that I am leavin' behind Have a way of comin' back As different shines. Inst. break..... There are lights In the honey On the screen today That tell the Wild bees come, She's givin' honey away, And you can Never, never never Take anything From the bees. I am the boomerang, And I have hit my mark. I am thrown By The Wilderness Into the park, And you can Never, never never Take anything Away from me. refrain: Come on and.... .......shines.
